Count
D : The owner of the mysterious pet shop in
the Chinatown area, the enigmatic Count D claims
to sell pets guaranteed to bring love and happiness
back into people's lives. However, his clients have
been mysteriously dying as of late. While his somewhat
feminine manner can charm even the angriest of individuals,

Leon
:
A police investigator and detective, Leon is determined
to get to the bottom of the deaths of Count D's
clients, and frequently visits the pet shop in order
to get answers. However, in the course of his investigation,
he finds out many strange and disturbing things
regarding not only the pets that Count D sells to
his clients, but also of the twisted and pathetic
lives of the clients themselves, who have decided
to try to avoid their pain by buying pets from Count
D's shop - even if there are dangerous consequences.

Rabbit
:
Count D's first sale, the "rabbit" has
the outward appearance of a human girl, and in fact,
coincidentally looks like the daughter of two of
Count D's clients, who recently passed away from
a drug overdose. The conditions for having the rabbit
include not feeding it anything other than water
and vegetables, but the clients manage to buy the
rabbit anyway. But they may find out soon enough
that breaching the rules set out in the contract
that Count D has them sign may carry heavy penalties.

Count
D's Pet : Count D's pet appears to be a cross
between a rabbit, a mouse, and a bat. It is unknown
what purpose it serves, other than to keep Count
D company at the pet shop, but it is quite friendly
and cute, and doesn't exhibit any signs of violence
or anger towards leon or Count D's clients.
