Overview:
High school student Takumi Fujiwara has taken the street racing world at Mt. Akina by storm by outracing fast cars and even faster legends. Takumi is seemingly unstoppable at his home course - but his last opponent advised him to go out of the area and seek other challenges with his "Hachi-Roku" (AE86). Takumi's passion for racing continues to grow, but so do the challenges, and it may take more than Takumi's current skills to keep him on top.

Some Characters of Note:

Thanks to Around the World for the pics

Takumi picTakumi Fujiwara: Takumi is still very laid-back and relaxed, but his previous races have ignited in him a fire and a passion for street racing that continues to grow with each battle. Takumi has defeated all his opponents at Mt. Akina, but now he seeks to take his challenges outside of the Akina area. But as Takumi may soon discover, his driving skills are about to be challenged by the likes of drivers that he has never yet encountered. Though young, Takumi's style mirrors and even rivals that of his father, Bunta Fujiwara, who was a street racing legend.

Itsuki picItsuki Takeushi: Takumi's best friend, Itsuki is considertably more emotional and boisterous. Unlike Takumi, who reluctantly takes the reins of becoming a Street Racer, Itsuki constantly fantasizes and dreams of becoming a great Speed racer (and getting the girls in the process). However, his constant bumbling and misunderstandings get him in trouble more often than not. Itsuki's "Hachi-Go" (AE85) is inferior to Takumi's "Hachi-Roku", but he has nevertheless grown to love his new car and continues to drive with it to emulate Takumi's amazing skill.

Seiji picSeiji Iwaki: Second fastest racer on the highly skilled yet slightly arrogant "Emperor" team, Seiji has complete confidence in his driving skill. Most of this confidence comes from his love of the Lancer Evolution car, which he feels is the superior street racing car over all other cars. Brash and not afraid to put his opponents down, Seiji and his leader, Kyouichi Sudou, plan on beating all the racers in the area to prove the superiority of the Lancer Evolution model. Seiji has a habit of cutitng the stickers of teams he beats and placing them upside down on his car.

Ryosuke pic Ryosuke Takahashi: The older of the Takahashi brothers, Ryosuke is the more cerebral (and more skilled) of the two. He was once known as the "White Comet of Akagi" but founded the Akagi Redsuns on the premise of beating all the teams in the Gunma area and then retiring, setting records no one could break. Driving a Mazda FC3S RX-7, Ryosuke has a become a legend in the area, unbeatable until Takumi's narrow win over him at Akina. However, this has not stopped him from improving his technique, and many challengers, even the Emperor team, respect his skill.
