"For
many fans, a series needs to be extremely complex to
the point of sheer inexplicablity (a la Evangelion)
to be of worth to anyone...For these people, I say keep
walking, this isn't your series. However, for everyone
else (namely near 47% of Japanese television at one
point) Initial D is just right for viewing. Featuring
the story of young tofu delivery boy turned expert street
racer, Takumi Fujiwara, Initial D is a tale of growing
up, making friends, falling in love, and finding your
true self..."

"Initial
D is a breath of fresh are. After seeing so much anime
revolving around blowing stuff up, saving the world,
and school drama, it was very entertaining to see a
show that tackles another subject matter. While the
art style may see a bit crude at the beginning, they
grow on, and also are cleaned up as the series progressed..."

a system that creates something exciting and fun to
watch. There is also an obsessive technicality to many
of the things that are done, breaking down each technique
into a collection of physical and mental concepts. Initial
is no different than any of these, only the medium is
different - and it works..."

"Initial
D is an action based series that revolves around the
main characters and their love of cars, with a few minor
characters thrown in to help stretch out the episodes.
This series is rather reminiscent of Speed Racer, and
is definitely aimed towards the extreme car fanatic.
As the terms that are used in the series, are most definitely
in car geekspeak, the average individual finds themselves
lost, and in some cases, not caring, that they are lost
in all the carbabble..."
