"Hellsing is remarkable, especially to me, because it has a wide range of characters. Each one, unique in his or her own way.The series is very Gothic, in how it's drawn, Music played, and all the other aspects of it. Not for the weak of heart, or those who may be fairly religious, as crosses and such are used frequently, and how there is a bit of a grudge between the Protistant England, and the Vatican's Catholic ways

"In this day and age, most anime is becoming geared toward comedy and love stories, while straight-out bloody action is becoming less and less prevalent. "Hellsing" is a welcome treat to fans of "old school" anime from the early 80's - early 90's, where blood, violent, and all things sinful were the mainstays

I hear vampires are recurring monsters within the anime medium, although Hellsing is the first anime involving them I've seen. I have to say, it was not one of the more impressive series I have seen; of course, Hellsing isn't an anime bent on deep or thought-provoking plots, a characteristic I love to see in an anime. Instead, Hellsing is more of a straight-plot, violence-filled bloodfest, with no real messages or themes being sent through the lengthy (and yet boring) action..."
