I really wanted to like .hack//SIGN. Really I did. It had a great concept, taking the viewer into the massive world of an MMORPG. The animation and special effects are really good. Sadly, these are the ONLY things I was even the least bit impressed by..."

"The World;" the name of the game around which .Hack is centered. The player Tsukasa; around which so much is dependant. Aura... The Key of Twilight... What is it all? Why can't Tsukasa log out? A good deal of mystery (it's not incredibly complex, don't worry!) that is very well laid out..."

"Part of the enjoyment I get out of role-playing games is immersing yourself into a character, stepping into the shoes of someone that could either be like you or not be like you. With the advent of the MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), that possibility extends out from your living room all the way to the ends of the earth. Unfortunately, MMORPG environments are all but devoid of true role-playing - yet, it is the allure of the online that brings people back - as a way to prove oneself to others. Hack Sign, or Dot-Hack, seeks to encapsulate this environment, while still adding its own twists and turns in a suspense-filled fantasy story
