Some
Characters of Note:
Mokoto
Kusanagi: A beautiful but deadly operative,
Kusanagi is one of the top agents of a secret intelligence
agency created to monitor unusual activity such
as the Puppet Master incident. Kusanagi's past is
completely unknown, and even her identity is shrounded
in mystery. While she look slyoung, she is actually
mostly cybernetic and most of her body is mechanical,
enabling her to perform superhuman feats. Her mind,
however, is still intact, and her communication
with the Puppet Master will cause her to question
herself and her identity.

Bateau:
Kusanagi's assigned partner, Bateau has been around
the cybernetic agent for years and has shadowed
her every step, mostly sticking around in order
to keep her from getting into trouble. Bateau's
background is also not known, although he may have
had some sort of past life at some point before
joining the agency. Along with Kusanagi, the two
are among some of the most trusted and effective
agents in the intelligence organization that they
work for.

Aramaki:
The
chief of operations for the agency, Aramaki has
been in the business for years and is well-respected
by those around him. He is the one who ultimately
hands the assignments to Kusanagi and Bateau to
investigate and neutralize, if necessary, the
threat of the Puppet Master from the networks
of the world. Aramaki is mostly an honest man,
but will attempt to do things for the greater
good, even if it means cutting corners on policy.

Puppet
Master:
The computer program created to be able to tap
into all the world's computers and networks. Not
much is know about the true purpose of the program
itself, but it has somehow become aware and sentient
and is attempting to think for its own beyond
the whims of its creators. It is the potential
threat that this powerful program poses that causes
Kusanagi to be assigned to investigate it and
its true motives.
