Overview:
It's
been a while since Goku last fought any serious threat,
and he has settled down to what seems to be a peaceful
life with his wife Chichi and son Gohan. However, Goku's
true heritage is about to catch up with him, and he
finds out that he is a Saiya-jin, and was sent to earth
as a child to destroy the earth! Now the Saiya-jins
have returned to finish Goku's unfinished work, and
Goku must now protect the planet he was supposed to
destroy, in a new saga that will span generations to
come.
Some
Characters of Note:
Goku:
Older, wiser, and a quite a bit stronger, Goku had
many adventures when he was a child, but has since
settled down and married, and even had a son with
his wife, Chichi. However, the adventure isn't over
for Goku yet, as he finds out his true past as Saiya-jin,
something which explains his ability to transform
as well as his awesome fighting ability. Because
Goku hit his head as a child, he forgot all about
his mission to conquer the earth, and despite remembering
it, fights to protect it.
|
Piccolo:
Formerly an arch-rival of Goku's, Piccolo joins
together with Goku to fight the first Saiya-jin,
Raditsu (Raditz in English version) and stop him
from destroying the world, as well as Goku's son.
Piccolo is obviously not from Earth, and in the
course of the series, we find that Piccolo is actually
from a planet called Namek. Piccolo serves as Gohan's
earliest trainer, and puts Gohan through a rigorous
set of tests in order to have him prove his worth
as a fighter. As a result, Piccolo is also sort
of a role model for the young Gohan.
|
Gohan:
Goku's son, who takes after his father in a number
of ways, though the most obvious is in fighting
potential. Even as a child, Gohan displayed immense
power and potential that surpassed both Piccolo
and Goku, who were older and more skilled. Piccolo
is the first to seriously train Gohan in the ways
of fighting, but over time, Gohan gains a power
level on his own that is immensely powerful. In
the course of the series, viewers see Gohan grow
from a young child into a young man with great fighting
ability, taking the torch from his father Goku as
the main character.

|
Vegita:
The self-proclaimed "Prince of all Saiya-jins",
Vegita is Goku's second, and possibly most well
known rival in the very early parts of the series.
Arrogant and self-centered, Vegita is willing
to do anything to be the strongest, and seeks
to finish the Saiya-jins job of conquering the
earth. While Vegita's selfish nature is constantly
shown on the surface, there is another side beneath
the rough exterior that some come to see in the
course of the series.
