"How much did you say?! It's coming out of my salary?! What do you mean I've got to fill out all this paperwork to save the world?! In the early part of the 21st century, the Earth was invaded by strange monsters from another dimension. They were called Heterodynes and they were virtually unstoppable. However, Earth wasn't going to go down without a fight and the army contracted with several companies to build the ultimate weapon against the threat. Unfortuantely, their solution, the giant combat robot Dai-Guard, came a little too late. The enemy disappeared without a trace and the much-vaunted Super Weapon became a Super-Useless Thing. The army didn't want to deal with the cost of maintaining Dai-Guard, so they let the company that built it, take the weapon off their hands and use it for a promotional prop. What a let down..."
