"Star-crossed love, or love between those for which it is not normally destined, is a common theme in many of the most well-known romance stories in literature. Stories such as Romeo and Juliet, Pride and Prejudice, and more show how love can happen despite the least ideal of circumstances. While we see some of this in some anime series, CLAMP's Chobits takes it to another level by introducing a technological element. The result is a romantic comedy that is both deep and entertaining..."

"One of the latest manga tales by CLAMP (X/1999, Cardcaptor Sakura, Angelic Layer) to be animated, Chobits dazzles the viewer with cuteness that is almost obnoxious in its presentation, yet it never quite gets to the level that it feels childish. Personally, I tend to be adverse to over-cuteness, and it takes a fair amount of charm to keep me from turning my DVD player off. Luckily for Chobits, it not only has solid charisma, but it has an excellent story to boot..."
