Volume
19 (Purple Cover)
When
Daddy Was Strong: When training in the mountains, Ranma beats up Genma when they fight
over the last cup of ramen. Later back home, Genma is
thinking, and decides he wants to test his strength
against Ranma, so they fight, but Ranma wins. Ranma
says he won't take revenge for all the things Genma
did to him (Genma was often stealing Ranma's food),
but he wants his father strong, to help him train, but
Genma just takes the 'dead fish' (defeated) position.
Genma left a sign saying he's left, and on her morning
jog Akane finds the panda clutching a tire in the park.
Ranma turns up too, and argues with they agree to have
a fight in a week.
Time
To Leave the Nest: Ranma is training in the mountains (smashing up logs very fast). He falls
asleep outside his tent, and wakes up finding himself
wrapped up in a blanket, some panda paws, and all the
food stolen. The panda continues to train, holding a
tire in the park. At the match, Ranma beats up Genma,
who then laughs, saying he can fight all-out now.
The
Cradle From Hell: Genma tries to clutch Ranma in his 'cradle of hell' move, but Ranma keeps
dodging away, but they reach a standstill with Ranma
not wanting to attack as he don't know what the move
is. The Tendö's have supper etc, and 3 hours later,
Ranma decides to attack Genma, who'd fallen asleep.
Genma says he had a dream (remembering happy days with
young Ranma), then he clutches Ranma very tightly, and
rubs his unshaven cheek against Ranma's. The next morning,
Genma is throughly beaten up, and Ranma is still grossed
out over the move.
Mark
of the Cherry Blossom: Akane buys some special sakura mochi ingredients - if someone is destined
for you, then cherry blossom-like marks appear on the
eaters head, else they get a cross. Soün stuffs one
down Happosai's throat, who hits his head because of
the bad taste, and gets a big 'X' on his face. Akane
tries to make Ranma eat one, who runs away, and Kunö
also eats one, and gets an 'X'. Akane tells Ranma about
them, and says she wants to know if they're really destined
for each other. Ranma feigns indifference, then goes
to eat one, but is put off by Akane staring at him,
and they fight, and some of the sakura mochi get thrown
into P-chan's mouth. P-chan runs into the public bath,
and Ryöga runs out - who has 3 blossom petals marks
on his face.
Akane's
Feelings:
Later, after Ryöga and Ranma have fought a bit, Ranma
decides Akane and Ryöga (who gets VERY happy) would
make a good couple, and Ryöga playfully punches him
off. Later, Akane eats a sakura mochi, and gets an 'X'
too, and Ranma steals one, and goes under the house
to try to force himself to eat it. The next morning,
Akane is looking for Ranma, and finds he's holding a
sakura mochi, and he then decides to eat it.
Storm
of Petals:
Ranma hits his head over the taste, then says he'll
turn around after '3', but just before he does Akane
hits him away because she was scared of what she might
see. Ranma lands in Ryöga's ink-well, who's just finished
a love letter to Akane. Ranma runs into the house, and
finds his face black from the ink, and after rubbing
it off, his face is clear. Later, Ryöga has found out
about the sakura mochi, and happily babbles about his
and Akane's wedding. Ranma chucks water onto him, and
P-chan attacks him, hitting his face. Then Akane turns
up and finds Ranma face covered with petal marks, and
walks off in a happy mood. Later as Ranma is being fed
by Akane, he think he'll have to tell her the truth
- that both Ryöga and he got the marks from P-chan's
hooves - Ryöga had got them as he hit himself on the
head because of the taste.
L!
O! V! E!:
At school, there is a volleyball match between two schools,
and Akane's team have all been knocked out, except for
her. When Ranma turns up, he sees a baton thrown at
Akane, and flicks a nut (out of a bag he was eating)
to knock it away. It belonged to the other school's
cheerleader, and Akane then start arguing with her,
while the other team throw lots of balls and win the
game. Later Akane is crying, and Ranma kicks Kunö away
when he tries to 'comfort' Akane. The cheer-girls are
walking home, and their leader, Mariko, despairs of
finding love when Kunö drops onto her. He gives her
a bandage, and walks off (after giving her his standard
speech), and it's love at first sight for Mariko. Later
Kunö is chasing after onna-Ranma (he wants her to cheer
for his kendo club), when Mariko turns up and wants
to fight "Kunö's girlfriend" in "martial
arts cheerleading", and Ranma agrees, but it's
more because that Mariko made Akane cry.
Cheerleading
for Love:
At school onna-Ranma is practicing, and beats up Kunö
when he turns up. Mariko says to win, Ranma will have
to love Kunö more than she. She says she'll do anything
for Kunö - he tells her to close her eyes, then he draws
all over her face. The other boys come rushing in, and
Mariko beats them all up. At home, Ranma is practicing,
and says he's doing it for the Anything-Goes School
of Martial Arts. Mariko kisses a big poster of Kunö
goodnight.
Win
One for the Lover: Onna-Ranma comes and gives lots of presents to Kunö, but he thinks she
isn't serious - so they have to go on a date. When Ranma
comes back, she says she should have hit Kunö more.
At the match, Mariko gives her own team food that paralyses
them, then onna-Ranma and Mariko start fighting, and
Ranma is having trouble against some of Mariko's stranger
moves. In the audience, Akane decides that'll she help
Ranma.
Equals
in Love:
Mariko sends a shower of love letters to Kunö, Ranma
counters with pictures of herself - Kunö is happier
with the pictures, and Ranma gloats. Mariko cries, and
runs off, Kunö says he loves her, then Mariko gloats,
and Ranma worries about loosing. Then one of Mariko's
kendo team finishes off the 2nd last Furikan kendoist
(Mariko thought she'd got all her team). Then Kunö and
the new guy fight and Ranma says if Kunö looses, Mariko
looses and protects the other guy.
Love
vs. Love:
Ranma is merrily cheering for the new guy, and Kunö
attacks this person who made "Osage no Onna"
change. Mariko tries to hit him with batons, but Ranma
knocks them back into Kunö, then Mariko gets Ranma with
an extending baton. The other guy gets tricked, and
Ranma saves him and says they love each other making
the other guy embarrassed, then Mariko grabs the guys
sword and when Ranma gets it back and throws it to him,
the guy drops it. Ranma comments that was clumsy and
gets hit by the guy, then Mariko uses a spiked pom-pom
which rips off the guy's mask. Ranma tells him to get
up, saying she loves him, and Akane (the 'guy') asks
if it's really true, and Ranma turns to stone.
