Volume 13 (Burgundy Cover)

The Mark of the Gods:
Another wandering journey by Ryouga takes him to the high mountains of Japan, where Ryouga defeats an ancient tattoo artist. In return for all of Ryouga's ramen, the old man gives Ryouga unlimited power, making him the strongest man in the world. No dojo in Japan, not even Ranam can stand up to Ryouga now. But as with all instances of absolute power, there comes a price, and Ryouga has paid it dearly...

Face Off!: Ranma's got his hands full trying to get the strength-enhancing doodle off of Ryouga's stomach by defeating him, and not even the "Saotome School of Desperation" is able to fool Ryouga into being beaten. A despondent Ryouga despairs of never returning to normal again, but things get even worse when Akane sees the same doodle on P-chan and Ryouga twice in the same day. Now it seems that it's only a matter of time before Akane puts together the forbidden truth...

The Mark of the Pig: Ryouga continues to have close calls with Akane as she keeps thinking about the drawing on P-chan and him. Meanwhile, Onna-Ranma is able to finally get through Ryouga's defense, and figures out what to do to finally defeat the strongest man in the world. But he/she may be too late, becasue Akane just happened to decide to give P-chan a hot bath...

Akane Guesses the Secret: Luckily Ryouga narrowly escaped Akane finding out his darkest secret, but the matter of the drawing still has to be resolved. Ranma literally has to make Ryouga bend over backwards in order for him to defeat him. However, the two of them could be trying to do it at an inopportune time...

Santa's Little Disciples: Happosai is befriended by two little children, who mistook him for Santa Claus one year ago when on one of his infamous panty raids. Now the innocent tykes want to learn all about "Santa's" profession - but can even Happosai bear to see two kids become panty thieves? Ranma and Akane hope not, since they've been dragged along to keep an eye out for the kids...

When You Wish Upon a Sword: Kunou returns from a vacation with a new item - a sword which grants the bearer any three wishes he or she wants. Naturally this has Ranma and Genma scrambling for the sword in order to get their normal forms back, but not before Kunou uses up two wishes on silly, extravagant gifts for his "pig-tailed goddess" and Akane. Now Ranma has to resort to his worst sacrifice of pride yet - to agree to go out with the kendo master as a girl...

May I Cut In?: Kunou's first date with his Osage no Onna doesn't go quite as planned - at least not for Ranma. All attempts by the red-haired martial artist to steal the "Wishbringer" sword are quickly thwarted by the naive Kunou. Genma steals the sword for himself in all the confusion, but quickly realizes it is useless when the sword refuses to answer to his commands (only the voice of the one who originally acquired it may command it). Now Ranma's in a bigger rut, having to not only get the sword, but get Kunou to make her wish for her...

The Final Wish: Onna-Ranma's willing to offer up almost anything to be fully male again through the power of Kunou's "Wishbringer" sword - even if it means a final fond kiss at the end of their date. Ranma's got to try and suck it up to return to normal, but Kunou seems to think he knows exactly what the pig-tailed girl wants as a last wish...

The King is Wild: A mysterious gambler appears, demanding Ukyou's Okonomiyaki cart from her. Ukyou refuses, but then remembers the face of Bakuchoh oh King, or the Gambling King, who cheated her out of her cart 10 years ago. As before, Ranma comes to her rescue, but not before the King pulls out an Ace from his sleeve - it seems that Ranma, after losing to the Gambling King 10 years ago, willed the Tendo dojo to him. Now the King's in town to collect, much to Soun's anger and the rest of the family's concern. Now Ukyou's agreed to train Ranma in the ways of Old Maid, to beat the King, but he might have to stay at Ucchan's in order to do it...

Never Bet Your Life: A jealous Akane walks into Ukyou's room to find Ranma still failing to train in gambling to beat the Gambling King and win back the Tendo Dojo. Meanwhile, the King has made the dojo into a gambling casino, cheating all the little kids out of their money. Even Soun, who nobly steps into "card battle" with the King to get the dojo back, ends up losing almost the whole house to the scheming gambler. Ranma loses his second match against the King as well, but it isn't until Nabiki, of all people, steps up to the plate, that the Tendos come close to winning back nearly all of the Tendo's belongings. Meanwhile, Onna-Ranma is working off her "IOU"'s at Ucchan's, but a bigger surprise awaits Ukyou and Ranma when they return from the public baths - the Tendos and Saotomes have been kicked out of their own home and into Ucchan's, all because Nabiki lost everything all over again to the Gambling King...

Put On a Poker Face: Nabiki figures out Ranma's fatal problem - he has no way of keeping a straight, or "poker" face, when gambling. Now Ranma focuses on blanking out his expressions, as the rest of the family, armed with Nabiki's inside knowledge of the Gambling King, return to the dojo and reclaim nearly all they had lost. The dojo is the last thing standing, but just as Akane is about to fight in Ranma's place, Ranma shows up, with a foolproof way of keeping a poker face (even though it's just covering your face up completely)...

The Virtues of Training: With the King and Ranma evenly matched (i.e. equally horrible) the ultimate Old Maid match continues. The Gambling King eventually resorts to extreme cheating to win the game, much to Ranma's sadness at the lack of honor in the match. Agreeing to this, the King puts Ranma to a final, simple test. Placing two cards in front of him, he tells Ranma to pick one - if it's the joker, he loses, and if it's the Ace, he wins. Ranma's fate at the Tendo dojo has been reduced to a simple game of cahnce, and it's up to him to see through the King's obvious attempt to cheat him...
