College.
Prolog - Military school?
===========================================
He tried to lift his head and immediately regretted it. ~Aww, man this has
got to be the worst hangover I ever had. And I can't even remember the
party!~
"I think he starts to awake. Mercury, could you check him?"
"Of course. All readings are fine, he shouldn't be hurt in any way."
~Shows what she knows.~ he thought sourly.
He opened his eyes, and saw a blue blur standing over him. The blur slowly
came into focus and proved to be a familiar looking girl with blue hair.
"Sailor Mercury?"
"Good, you remember. Now, could you please tell me who you are and how you
got here?"
"Of course I can. I am Jadeite, first general of Prince Endymions Royal
Guard. But how I got here, I'm not so sure. Was it a party?"
"No, definitely not. But there is someone who could explain everything much
better then me."
Jadeite looked around him and his eyes widened in surprise.
In the far side of the room he could see his prince, but what stunned
him was that the Sailor warriors from the Moon were there, every one
of them. Even the Shensi of Death and Destruction, Sailor Saturn.
Then he saw her, the Princess of the Moon, Serenity. But she was also
dressed in a Sailor fuku, and this one had wings! Something was seriously
wrong.
"Jadeite? How do you feel?" a voice asked him from behind his back.
"Kunzite! Stop sneaking up on me like that, or you'll give me a heart
attack one day!"
"Yep, he's definitely the same Jadeite as before." Nephrite said from
somewhere.
"Of course I'm the same, why wouldn't I be? I... WHAT has happened to you?"
He stared wide-eyed at Kunzite. His captain, for some totally unknown reason
looked like he was eighteen again.
"Before you say anything, I suggest you look in this mirror."
He silently accepted the mirror and looked into it. It was his face, but
something was missing. About four years.
"Wha- how did I..."
"It's a very long story. But the essence is that we were captured by Queen
Beryl and the demon Metallia. Beryl brainwashed us and we attacked the
Moon with a youma army and destroyed it. To save the world Queen
Serenity used the Imperium Silver Crystal and sealed all of us in the Dark
Kingdom. Ten thousand years later Beryl broke free and tried to conquer the
world again, but the re-born Sailor Shensi stopped her and killed us.
And now, four years later, Princess Serenity decided we deserved another
chance and gave us life with the Silver Crystal, but somehow all of us
ended up the same age as her."
"Well, that explains everything." Jadeite said and fainted.
-------------------
Ranma sat on the roof and enjoyed a few minutes of peace and quiet. Harmony
had always been rare in his life, but the last two years it had been
practically non-existing.
And since Kasumi had married Dr. Tofu and Nabiki had gone to college, life
had been sheer hell. Without her sisters calming influence Akane was more
violent then ever, and she also saw it as her duty to cook for him every
day.
"I can't even go to Shampoo anymore, because she tries to give me weird
love-potions. She's starting to get as bad as Kodachi. Lucky for me
Ucchan's still left." he said to a nearby tree. The tree didn't answer.
But even Ranma could get tired of eating okonomiyaki all the time, and when
he had suggested that Ukyo should change her menu... let's just say it
hadn't been nice.
Things had just become worse and worse since he had come to Nerima. He had
a bunch of crazy chicks after him who all claimed they loved him, and yet
he didn't have a single close friend. Alright, Ukyo was good friend, but
she was so demanding. He had to like her okonomiyaki, he had to say she
was cute and worst of all, he had to love her. Which he didn't, at least
not that way.
The guys at school lived in a totaly different world than he, without
curses, martial arts, and a bunch of fiancTes They couldn't understand him
at all.
The only friend he had who was able to understand him was Ryoga, and he
hated him most of the time. ~And I've gotta admit he does have a point.
Maybe I shouldn't have played all those tricks on him, or stolen his bread
every day.~
But lately Ryoga had been in Nerima even more sporadically than normally.
Akane thought he had married Akari, but Ranma found that highly unlikely.
To get married, you have to be able to find the church.
"Guess he got tired of always loosing and gave up. But I wish he was here,
so I could get some decent training. And so we could speak..."
Ryoga was one of the few people Ranma could be a bit more open to. And he
would *never* suggest that Ranma should stop being a nuisance and marry
Akane like a god boy.
"Why won't anyone understand that if I wanted to marry her I already would
have done it!" he complained to the world.
He sighed. Now that he would graduate he couldn't even use school as an
excuse to stop the marriage. Hmm... use school as an excuse...
"Yay! I've got it! I'll just go to college, and I'll have at least three
more years of freedom."
~But what if Akane follows me?~ he thought.
He frowned. She could indeed follow him, she had probably a bigger chance
to get in to a good college anyhow.
Ranma sat on the roof in deep thought until the night started to fall. He
hardly noticed what went on around him, but when he heard a couple of
voices singing something he looked up. In Nerima you could never know if it
was someone chanting a spell to a) kill Ranma or b) make Ranma fall in love
with the singer. Fortunately it was only a couple of drunk soldiers.
"We're free! No more crawling in mud, no more fuckin' schergeants waking
you up before dawn!"
Ranma looked at them. The army was one option he didn't even consider. He
didn't mind fighting but to train purely for killing? Nope, not this
martial artist.
A faint memory drifted back to him as he watched the soldiers disappear.
Something one of his friends had said about soldiers. No, not soldiers,
but... military school?
As Ranma recalled the conversation he started to laugh madly.
"Bwahahahah! No more mallets!"
-------------------
Ataru looked at Lum expectantly and hoped she wouldn't electrocute him
again.
"Darling?"
"Yes, Lum?"
"*Why* do you want to go to college? Not to look at girls I hope."
"Aww, Lum, how could you think suck a thing? But if I am to marry an oni
princess I should be well educated, don'tcha think?"
"But I can't let you out of sight, Darling! What if some girl would make
you forget you love me?!"
"Didn't I tell you? I'm going to a military school, which mean no girls at
all!"
Lum looked at her husband with amazement. Had Darling finally understood
that they belonged together? She almost started to cry out of happiness.
Ataru looked at Lum and tried to hide his grin. Sure, it was only for men
(Lum wouldn't let him go if it weren't) but he had checked up on the area
and knew for certain that there was a high-school for *girls only*
two blocks away. And everyone knew that high-school girls loved college
guys...
"So it's settled? I'll go to college and you'll go visit your parents for a
while."
"Yes, it's settled! But Darling, you must come home every semester and I'll
come and visit you often!"
"Err, sure. But give me a call before, ok? So I'm not on a dat- uh, I mean
so I'm not on a field trip, or something."
"Of course Darling!"
Ataru smiled but inside he was dancing with joy.
~Freedom, here I come!~
-------------------
The tired wanderer opened the envelope. He swallowed nervously and red the
letter.
"Yes! I made it in! I made- oops."
The 'oops' was due to the fact that the wanderer had accidentally smashed a
brick wall and that the inhabitants of the house to which the wall had
belonged were staring at him.
"Err... Just ignore me. And could you please tell me which way Tokyo is?"

I really, really want to know what people think about my fic!
Note: I've fixed the timelines a bit. The story takes place two
years after the end of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars and I've mixed
the manga and anime a bit.
Since I don't know how Urusei Yatsura ends, I've just assumed
that Ataru and Lum don't get married 'within the pages' so to speak.
Ranma is eighteen, and all the other Ranma 1/2 characters ages are
extracted from that.
