Tokaki

Tokaki was a member of the Byakko Seven, celestial warriors sworn to protect the Priestess of Byakko from harm. Tokaki is the husband of fellow Byakko Seven member Subaru. He is also Tamahome's former martial arts master and taught the young Suzaku Seven warrior how to fight. Pressure points are also a specialty of his, and in his younger days (pictured above) he also had the power to teleport and use his earrings as weapons. However, in his old age, estimated to be over 100, his powers have decreased to almost nothing, save for his skill in martial arts. Despite all these good points, he also has a bad habit of being a skirt-chaser and a pervert even though he is married.

Tokaki first comes into contact with Miaka shortly after the group's clash with Tomo, a member of the Seiryu Seven. Tokaki actually appeared earlier with Subaru, and was responsible for helping to nurse Tamahome back to health when he was badly hurt by Tomo. Because of what they had seen happen between the Priestess of Byakko, Suzuno, and one of their fellow warriors, Tatara of the Byakko Seven, Tokaki is very pessimistic about the prospect of the romance between Miaka and Tamahome, and advises him to dump Miaka for both their own goods. Because Suzuno and Tatara were denied happiness together, Tokaki believes that a union between people from both worlds is impossible.

Subaru and Tokaki accompany Miaka and the Suzaku Seven in order to get the shinzaho that they need from Tatara, and eventually end up restoring their youth (but aging their bodies on the inside) via Subaru's spell so that they can fight against the Seiryu Seven.
